- What is Silestone? – Silestone is a brand-name material made of a combination of quartz and other minerals held together with resin. The result is a homogenous material that closely resembles natural stone in appearance and texture.
- How Durable is Silestone? – Silestone countertops, like other counters made of engineered stone materials, are highly durable, often more durable than those made of natural stone. This material is highly resistant to scratches and scuffs, so it will continue to look great for years to come. It is also highly stain-resistant, so you won’t have to worry about spills leaving permanent stains on your Silestone countertops.
- Does Silestone Need to Be Sealed? – Unlike natural stone, Silestone does not need to be sealed. The resin content in the material creates its own seal, covering the porous stone fragments with non-porous resin. You won’t need to worry about re-sealing Silestone counters, but instead can continue to enjoy them as they are for years to come.
